Human error was the leading cause of data security incidents according to the BakerHostetler Data Security Incident Response Report[i]. Often innocent mistakes and the lack of awareness can lead to exposure of sensitive data; introduce entry points for malware; result in theft, and more. It seems as if each month we hear of yet another company being breached.
The ability to collect and report on data that is meaningful to your organization can help your business operate more efficiently. However, when it comes to payment data, some businesses find it hard to centralize this data so employees with proper access credentials can utilize it. Luckily, TrustCommerce offers Custom Fields. You may use Custom Fields via the TC Vault for mail order/telephone order and card present transactions or via your TC Link API integration.
Did you know that within the TrustCommerce Vault you can create a simple report to find payments submitted within a defined period of time? Or, pull a report for daily declines? Or, view a quick monthly summary of transactions by card type? It’s easy with TC Reporting.
The TC Vault Report generator has been enhanced over the years with our Merchants’ input to continually provide the most comprehensive, easy-to-use reporting tool available. In this quick tip column, I’ll show you how to use the Standard Reporting tool.

There are times in every merchant’s life when a customer makes a purchase and is either unhappy with the product, decides they no longer want it, or maybe there is a mistake on the amount that was charged. We will cover that topic here to help you make the right choice.
Taking a payment is more than a swipe, dip, or wave. The payment is an essential part of commerce. And commerce, well, that is a living, breathing, complex organism. Businesses have diverse systems in order to operate efficiently and to interact with their customers effectively.
When TrustCommerce began, we knew partners would be central to our success. By working with partners we support the interweaving of solutions that make commerce happen; that make businesses work.
In a world full of logins and passwords it’s easy to understand that one may occasionally forget their password. It can be frustrating and disruptive. TrustCommerce offers User Administration for large organizations so their personnel can access the TC Vault system for billing, accepting payments, issuing credit/voids and so forth. When a User forgets their password they have different options on how they can quickly update their password.
One way is to contact your Administrator and inform them you have forgotten your password. From there, they can assist and get you back in. However, reaching out to an Administrator for password help isn’t always convenient, especially if they are not available. A simpler option is to use the Forget Password tool on the TC Vault Log In page. Here are the main steps.
