UCHealth, a $6 billion, 4,200-physician network of 12 nationally recognized hospitals and more than 100 clinic locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska, sought to overcome these limitations by consolidating gateway and patient payment services with the TrustCommerce Payments Platform, gaining efficiencies and economies of scale.
The consolidated system integrates with Epic and represents a single source of truth that delivers centralized reporting functionality to the health system’s financial teams.
As a result of centralizing payment processes with TrustCommerce, UCHealth:
- Processes more than 90% of system-wide transactions with the TrustCommerce platform
- Reduced spending on fees paid to banks to process credit card payments
- Eliminated several redundant vendor relationships, freeing treasury staff to focus on other activities
- Diminished the burden of PCI compliance monitoring on treasury staff members
To continue to capitalize on efficiency gains it has realized from consolidation with TrustCommerce, UCHealth plans to convert remaining hospital and clinic locations, as well as point-of-sale sites, to the new consolidated payments platform.
